Youtubers you should be watching #2

Hi guys. So over the years i’ve watched a lot of youtuber. However, times have changed a little and as i’ve grown, my so has my taste in youtubers. My last ” youtubers you should be watching” post is a few years old now, so I thought i’d give you a more up to date version of what i’ve been enjoying. Lets get started.

Sophie & Dave.  These youtuber’s are a young couple, who have been vlogging their everyday lives for  couple of years now. Not only do I like their channel because I like to be a bit nosy and see what others do with their day ( but don’t we all?), but they’re both really down to earth and light hearted. If you’ve had a rubbish day, their vlogs are sure to cheer you up!

Melanie Murphy. Melanie is someone who appeared in my last post just over 4 years ago. I guess that really shows how long i’ve been watching her channel! I still love her videos, I truly feel her channel and content has grown and matured with me over the years. She focuses her videos around food, lifestyle, beauty and just pure honesty. No fancy gimmics or clickbate, shes just here to be her most authentic, honest self in the hopes it leaves a positive impact. I can say for an absolute fact that its definitely done that for me. She’s inspired me and changed my mindset for the better, regarding food, relationships and body image and mental health during some of my most difficult years. She’s truly been a rock throughout difficult times over the years, which sounds so silly to say but its true. This is the one and only youtuber who I feel truly connected to, despite the fact weve never actually met in person and only interact on twitter sometimes. I hope I can meet her one day and tell her all of this, but until then i’ll just be leaving this here…

Allie Gilnes. This is a beauty youtuber, who does lots of stunning, glamorous makeup tutorials with a range of products. She creates a lot of glamourous looks, however they can be quite wearable and appropriate for day time, as well as easy to follow! For this reason, she’s definitely worth a watch if youre new and only just starting out with makeup.

Natacha Ocean. If youre looking to get fit, then this is the youtuber for you! Natacha really does not mess around, she films lots of HIIT workouts that are sure to get your heart pumping and legs aching within seconds. However, although her workouts are super tough they can get easier with practice and will leave you with incredible results. The best part is, she knows all the science and works with experts when she researches how workouts and moves can impact us, so she really does know what she’s doing, can back it up, and shows she’s got all of our best interests at heart. A true inspiration for those looking for tougher, effective workouts.

That’s all guys, what youtubers have you been enjoying lately? Let me know in the comments bellow.

Take care,

Review on the Soph x Makeup Revolution Highlighter Palette.

Hi guys!

So a few weeks ago for my 20th birthday, I received the Soph X Revolution pallet. I swear its honestly the most incredible highlighter pallet I’ve ever seen. I love how universal the pallet is as Sophie has quite clearly tried to make darker shades for those of us with darker skin tones, but also included colours that could work for paler skin tones too.

However, the lighter shades on the left are a tad too light for me, so I often find myself mixing the top 2 right colours with the paler shades, to make it work for my skin tone and they are stunning!

Here are some swatches, so you can see what I mean.

Also, i’m not sure i’ll use the pink and purple shade as highlighters as those colours tend to intimidate me a little, as it can be so easy for it to look out of place and ruin a makeup look ( in my opinion.) However, if I took my time and applied them carefully they could easily be beautiful eye shadows along with the darker two on the bottom right.

In addition to this, I also find the consistency to be incredible. Although they’re a powder they are so buttery and creamy, and blend out like a dream. Also, they’re not too glittery which I do appreciate, as i’m not the biggest fan of chunky highlighters.

In conclusion. this is a wonderful highlighter and Id recommend it to anyone. Sophie really has done a lovely job with this, and its clear how much time and effort she has put into it – making it easily my favourite highlighter pallet.

The British Tag

Hey guys!

I haven’t wrote anything in a while and do enjoy doing the occasional tag, so here you go!

How many cups of tea do you have a day, and how many sugars

Usually 3 or 4 at the most, with 2 sweeteners . ( theyre not as bad for you as sugar, and I can hardly tell the difference )

Favorite part of your roast?

Definetly the roast potatoes. Sometimes theyre roasted with garlic and rosemary, other times theyre sprinkled with seasoning – and theyre always delicious!

Favorite dunking biscuit?

Chocolate chip buiscuits, or chocolate bourbons.

Favorite quintissentially british pastime?

Maybe going out to a nice pub and having a calvery on a sunday,  because my family always used to do that in the summer when I was younger.

Favorite word?

“Faffing.” Im not sure why, but I say it quite a lot.

Cockney rhyming slang?

I dont know much cockney rhyming slang, other than “apples and pears”.

Favorite sweet?

Sometimes, on the rare occasion, I love chocolate lime sweets. Theyre basically a hard, boiled lime sweet wigh chocolate in the middle. It probably sounds weird, but theyre so nice.

What would your pub be called?

My grandma was the reason I took interest in baking/cooking in the first place, so I feel like itd only be fair to name it after her. Also, its always a real treat as she bakes everything from scratch, so maybe “Val’s homemade treats” or something like that. Im not sure.

No.1 british person?

Zoe Sugg ( aka Zoella) . Ive watched her videos for a few years now, and she always comes across as such a lovely person in her vlogs. Plus I kind of wish I could do my makeup as well as she can!

Favorite shop/resturant

A resturant I love is The Harvester. Its a tad expensive, but the meals are amazing – plus you cant go wrong with a free salad bar.

What British song pops into your head?

All About You by Mcfly. Ive loved this band for a good 10 years ( so since I was 8 years old) and all their old songs will always be my favorite because they bring back so many memories.

Marmite?

Yuck, I hate it! I’d sooner have Bovril on toast instead.

Thats all guys, I hope you’re having a lovely day and ill be back very soon with a new blog post!
