May Favorites 2016

Hey guys!

Gradually over the past couple of months ( since april) I collected these items, but didnt really end up using any (bar 1) until may – so I decided to save this post until I’d had time to try them. So lets get into it.

The first thing I got was this silver necklace on the merch stand at the 5SOS SLFL concert in birmingham. It retailed at £15, and at first, I had a few issues with it. The clasp on the back was too small so I could barely see to do it up, and the chain had a reputation of making your neck green. However, I loved it and couldn’t part from it so put a new chain and clasp put on. ( luckily it was free, as my grandma makes jewellery so changed it.)

Since then I have been obsessed with this necklace and have worn it with so many outfits, as it goes with everything. However, If you don’t want to get it changed for whatever reason – then the necklace might not be for you.

I also got  the Nivea Men Sensitive Post Shave Balm, from Boots. It retailed at £5 and has 100ml in it, so considering a little goes a long way, then its great value for money.

Honestly, I wasnt sure what I first thought about how well this product actually works – as I the first time i wore it was at a concert. As i was out for 11 hours, and spent nearly 3 hours in heavy rain then 2 hours drenched in sweat as I danced and jumped around – it was hard to tell how good it was. Granted my highlight and bronzer had gone, but my foundation and concealer were still there so It seemed good – but it was hard to make a proper judgement on it.

However, ive worn it since then and I can now confirm that it really does work, as my makeup has lasted all day.I even had a nap for an hour and my make-up didnt budge – making it the best primer ive ever had!

As the summer is coming up, ive been really into more pastel coloured nail varnishes lately – so have been reaching for the Tanya Burr nail varnish in the colour “Pick’n’Mix” lately.

Firstly, I love the gold packaging as it just makes the whole thing look so much more special. Also, the actual nail varnish itself applies so easily, as its the perfect consistency and dries quite quickly. This is so handy, as I personally can’t stand it when nail varnish is too runny and needs a billion coats to look nice. Overal, the colour is beautiful and I love everything about it, so I’ll definitely be purchasing more in the future.

Ive also been loving the highlighter in this Makeup Revolution, blush, bronze and highlight kit. This kit retailed at £3.50 in Superdrug. To be honest, Im not keen on the blush, but the matte bronzer gives such a pretty, sun kissed finish.

However, as you all know – I love highlighter A LOT, so of course the highlighter stood out to me. You only need a small amount as its so strong – one delecate swipe across each cheekbone is all I need and im good to go. Plus it’s the tiniest bit glittery, giving it so much intensity, so its perfect for any highlight addicts like myself!

Finally, my favorite singer at the moment is Chester See. His voice is so beautiful, and his lyrics are so emotional and a little bit soppy ( in the best possible way) . If I was to reccomend any of his songs id definetly encourage you to listen to “Falling For You” as the lyrics are probably the best I’ve heard in a long time.

Thats all for now, what are your favorites? Let me know in the comments below.

Marshmallow Rice Crispy Treats

Hey guys!

So the other day, I was in one of those moods where I felt like baking, but didn’t want to spend hours in the kitchen making cake. Seeing as rice crispy treats are so quick and easy, i eventually settled on them to satisfy my sweet cravings.

Just to add, this would be a good recipy to make with kids, as they are so easy and quick to make – I know my baby nephew will love treats like this, once hes a little bit older and can help.

Ingredients:

60g butter
210g Marsmallows
140g rice crispies

(Makes 20)

First, I melted the butter in a pan, then added the marshmallows. I stired until it was all smooth and combined, then mixed the rice crispies in until they were all covered.

You could then add them to a tray covered with parchment paper, flatten it down, and cut into squares, but I chose to stick spoonfuls of the mixture to floral cupcake cases.

If you do choose to stick spoonfuls into cupcake cases, then try to be quick as it gradually gets harder to do as the mixture slowly solidifies by itself.

This next bits optional, but if you want to you can decorate them however you like. Once thats done, put them in the fridge to help them to solidify and enjoy!

Its been a good few years since I made Rice Crispy cakes, but theyll always be my favorite treat. Despite what anyone says, I’ll never be too old for them!

Beauty Would You Rather Tag

Hey guys

I haven’t done a tag in a while and thought it’d be fun to answer a few questions, so lets get into it.

1. Would you rather only ever wear eye makeup or skin makeup?

Definitely eye make-up. I just think I can get the most creative with my eye makeup, as I have plenty of colours to choose fron with my big eyeshadow pallets. However, id feel a bit more limited for choice with skin make-up – plus I dont like to cover up my freckles in the summer as I quite like them.

2. Would you rather cut off all your hair, or never cut your hair again?

Id honestly rather never cut my hair again. Its taken me years to get my hair how I like it, so although I hate split ends id feel odd without long hair.

3. Would you rather always wear your clothes too big, or too small?

Too big. I technically do that in winter anyway as I love my oversized jumpers – theyre just so cosy! I’m size 12, but will sometimes buy size 16 in jumpers just for comfort.

4. If you were given £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Probably makeup, as im forever scrolling through the makeup revolution instagram wishing it was all mine. 😂 plus I only wear the same 5 outfits anyway, so itd be a waste of clothes and money if I brought clothes

5. Would you rather wear lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?

Probably eyeliner as lipstick. Im sure you could get red eyeliners, so it wouldnt be any different than using lip crayons.

6. Would you rather wear MC Hammer pants or Biker Shorts in public?

Probably MC hammer trousers, as I dont have the best ass – making biker shorts a bit revealing for me. Id sooner cover it up and feel a bit stupid but comfy, than struggle to hide it and feel self concious all day.

7. Would you rather never be able to fill in your eyebrows or only fill them in using a sharpie?

Never fill my eyebrows, as I dont fill them in anyway. Theyre so thick, so no matter how careful I am they always end up looking like slugs anyway.

8. Would you rather never pluck your eyebrows, or never shave your legs?

Never pluck my eyebrows. I can pay to get them threaded ( is that cheating? 😂) plus I like wearing dresses in the summer, so need my legs to be all smooth and freshly shaved.

Thats all for now guys, if you want to, feel free to put your own answers for the questions in the comments section.

Extraverted introverts.

Do you ever feel like as much as you love socialising, going out with your girl friends and talking to new people – some days you find comfort from just being alone?

This probably sounds a little weird,  but for this exact reason i like to call myself an extroverted intovert.

Some days, I love to spend a few hours getting ready to go out and socialise. In fact, I’ll even put it in my callendar and make an event of it. Ill spend a good 15 minutes trying to perfect just my winged eyeliner, choose a cute dress and statement necklace to go with it – Just so I feel confident in public, making my day even happier as a result. I’ll laugh, take far too many selfies and enjoy the moment with my favorite people, as if it were our last.

However, on other days I dont want to do that. As much as I love people and doing fun things outside, I also enjoy my own company, a lot.

My hair will be in a messy bun, with no makeup, and ill be wearing that thick cosy onesie I adore. I’ll lounge around with a cup of tea ( or 5) and binge watch my favorite youtubers, log myself out of social media and just enjoy some alone time that can sometimes be so needed.
Or, if the mood takes me I’ll turn all my electronics off and sit and write in my journal or do some of my adult colouring book as I think through all of my troubles and doubts in my own space, way and time. ( not forgetting my tea). I’ll take an hour or two to block myself out of the world completely; to take care of me and put my needs first.

Its important to do that sometimes though. The hustle and bussle of life can be daunting and hectic, leaving you stressed, worried and unsure of yourself. Its almost like you forget to come up for air, and breathe. Remember your purpose in life, reflect on both the good and bad bits, and breathe.

Its just how humans are – its a need that we can’t go without, or else wed simply go insane.

So maybe, there doesn’t have to be a devide between introverted and extraverted people. Maybe some people are both, and in my opinion – that is a wonderful thing.
